Happy Christmas Herbst Theatre, San Francisco, CA December 18, 2008 I've been waiting a long time to see the Irish Tenors in my area of northern California. Beautiful music sung by beautiful men. They just have an air about them that is a cut above any other group. And I could not wait any longer to see Finbar sing How Great Thou Art. It received the biggest ovation of the night. I've almost worn out my cd playing this song and read other reviews but to hear it in person was a dream come true. I know many singers can hold a note but Finbar does it with so much power it is hard to believe. Finbar's other song selections were a big hit with the audience too like the Christmas Song and Kathleen. During Kathleen a lady next to me was crying. It was her mother's name and favorite song. Finbar did Silver Bells which was part of a medley like the Percy French from Belfast, each man had his own song to sing. Finbar really is very elegant as one review said. Anthony was very solemn during the first half but sprang to life in the second half. This was my first look at Karl and he is a great match for Finbar and Anthony. Karl's dancing during I'll Be Home For Christmas was so cute. Like many reviews have said he really is cuddly looking. Their harmony in trio is just so special. Go Tell It On The Mountain got the crowd clapping and singing. During Silent Night and Oh Holy Night everyone was quiet and hardly breathing. Everyone loved Jingle Bell Rock including the tenors. They were having as much fun as we were. It felt like Love Me Tender was being sung to their many fans or at least I took it that way. I really hope they come back to this part of California again soon. What a wonderful Christmas present. Quinnie R. (Richmond, CA)
